In most cases, the answer is yes. SuperShed buildings are designed to meet the relevant building codes and full engineering documentation will be provided. On receipt of a deposit and signed purchase order, these documents will be prepared. Please consult with your local council for specific requirements in your area.
You can be assured that SuperShed buildings will meet the demands of local building authorities and have done so for 49 years.
Can SuperShed arrange council approval?TOP^Absolutely. We can arrange to submit your Development Application (DA) and Construction Certificate (CC) to council on your behalf. We will just need a site plan indicating block dimensions and all existing structures.
What if I have to obtain Council approval before I can build?TOP^You can still place your order with a nominal deposit of 10% of the purchase price allowing us to release the Architectural and Engineering Plans for you to submit to Council for approval.
How do I pay a deposit for my building?TOP^You can pay your deposit by cash, cheque or direct deposit.
Can I have a custom designed building?TOP^We specialise in customized, economical steel building solutions. SuperSheds Modular portal frame design system allows us to offer scope and complete flexibility to suit any location and space requirements you may have.
What are the warranties on SuperShed buildings?TOP^All SuperShed buildings are designed in accordance with Australian building codes and come with up to 15 years BlueScope Steel warranty on framing and cladding. And also a 25-year structural warranty on all portal framed buildings for complete peace of mind.
Will your sheds match my existing buildings and surroundings?TOP^Supershed’s extensive range of colours, cladding profiles and roof styles will suit all existing steel shed buildings. You can also use brickwork walls, pre-cast concrete walls or any other external cladding finish.
Can you deliver everywhere?TOP^We can deliver to anywhere Australia-wide and we also export to the Asia-Pacific Region.
How long does it take to have a building delivered?TOP^Once full payment is made we will advise of a delivery date. This can vary depending on the size and complexity of your shed. Expect around three to four weeks on a standard design.
What do I get in my SuperShed kit?TOP^The kit includes all the wall and roof cladding-the framing- (this is custom punched for easy bolting), the screws, hi-tensile bolts and hold down bolts, apex and haunch plates, rod and turnbuckle bracing, gutters and downpipe to ground level, corner flashings and opening flashings, all accessories, engineered plans & instruction manuals.
Are your Sheds easy to build?TOP^Many of our clients erect their own farm shed and smaller buildings. Following our comprehensive instructions, you should not have any difficulty in erecting your building. And because we use double purlins on the uprights, they’re easier to stand up and don’t require temporary bracing like many single frame sheds.
That’s why SuperShed has long been a favourite of builders and erectors alike.
Can SuperShed erect the building for me?TOP^As master builders we can also do the concreting, the erecting and sheeting of the building and can also do complete fit-outs and external work. The complete job for peace of mind.
How long will the building last?TOP^All our buildings are designed to meet the current Australian building standards. All frame members and cladding are manufactured from the range of roll-formed products produced by BlueScope Steel, and carry a warranty of up to 15 years (conditions apply). We also offer a 25-year structural warranty. Lifespan and warranty provided will depend on the area and actual placement of the building.
What building maintenance is required?TOP^All SuperShed steel buildings are very low maintenance. ZINCALUME ® and COLORBOND ® high tensile steel has been specially developed to withstand Australia's harsh climatic conditions. Regular washing with water will enhance the appearance and life of your building appearance.
Can my SuperShed accommodate future needs?TOP^The unique SuperShed building construction accommodates future growth. Buildings can be extended in both width and length without the need for structural changes with a simple “bolt-on” procedure.
Are SuperShed buildings suitable for use in all areas?TOP^SuperShed can supply buildings for all Australian wind regions and terrain categories. Every building is supplied site specific to ensure it meets the engineering criteria specified for the area and actual site.
What does wind region mean?TOP^Australia has 4 wind regions, A, B, C & D. Most of Australia is Region A. These regions are as per Australian Standards AS1170.2
Contact your local council if unsure of what is applicable for your site.
What does Terrain Category mean?TOP^Terrain Category 1 is exposed open terrain for a 10km radius, no trees, other buildings or hills. Terrain Category 2 is open terrain with few trees and surrounding buildings. Normally a paddock. Terrain Category 2.5 is small acreage blocks. Terrain Category 3 is a suburban backyard.
What colours can my SuperShed come in? TOP^The roof and wall sheeting of your shed can come in Zincalume or any colour in the Colourbond Range. You can also select the colours of your guttering, roller doors and PA doors as a highlighted feature.
See Colour chart below.
What steel do you use?TOP^
We only use BlueScope (BHP) Australian steel on our purlin buildings. And only supply Australian made steel products form reputable Australian manufacturers.
What is the thickness of your wall cladding?TOP^When it comes to cladding thickness, there is often confusion. It pays to know your BMT form your TCT. BMT= Base Metal Thickness, the true thickness of the steel in millimeters. TCT= Total Coated Thickness, is the thickness of the steel (BMT) plus the thickness of the paint or coating.
At SuperShed we only use the thicker, 0.42mmBMT for wall cladding. This is the equivalent of 0.47TCT and it’s a lot more rigid and quicker to sheet. (Most others manufacturers only use 0.35BMT).
What roof pitches are available?TOP^Our standard roof pitches are 7.5, 15 and 30 degrees. Any other roof pitch available upon request.
What’s the difference between SuperShed and others?TOP^When you add it all up, we believe there is a big difference in quality, range, service, expertise and value. At SuperShed we’re passionate about sheds and providing the best possible space for you.
