Shed 101
Welcome to Sheds 101, below you can find the basics on all the terms and different parts of a steel shed building. This will give you the information and knowledge to make an informed decision. If you still unsure about something, just ask us.
- Span – This is the building’s width, measured to the inside of the wall cladding.
- Length – Overall length of the building measured from the inside of the roof sheeting at the gutter line.
- Height – Is the height from top of slab or footing to the top of your column.
- Bay Width – Is the distance between centre-lines of the columns along the sidewall.
- Barge – This is the flashing that covers the area where the roof sheet and the wall sheet meet.
SuperShed steel buildings utilise our exclusive Clearspace portal frame design for strength, ease of construction and for low costs. Connected to this framework are the roof purlins and the wall girls. Covering the outside of the building is the roof and wall cladding.
